Japan's tourism sector has experienced a notable slowdown, with foreign visitor arrivals dropping by 2% in the first half of 2026 compared to the previous year. This marks the first decline since the pandemic's peak in 2021, primarily attributed to a more than 50% decrease in visitors from China amid strained bilateral relations.
